The Great British Sewing Bee
I was on Youtube, as usual, to find sewing instructions and tips and guess what I bumped into?
Now they're already showing Season 2. Basically, the reality show is a competition between home sewers sought from Britain. They range from sewers who are new to sewing, 1-2 years to those who had been sewing since they are kids.
The judges are Patrick Grant (fashion designer and creative director of Norton & Sons of Savile Row) and May Martin. The competitors are given a few challenges each week which are following patterns, creativity & innovation, and materials challenge of course the hardest challenge for them all is time.
The show weaves in some history on patterns, fabric, techniques, fashion and so many more... I always watch with some dream of being on the show. If only.... If I were to choose my favorite sewers, I think it would be Chinelo and Lynda. They're good!
My favorite part of the show is looking at their haberdashery. In case you are like me, who didn't know what a haberdashery is:
If you ever watch The Great British Bake Off, the idea behind the show is similar, only difference is baking instead of sewing. I must say,,, another one of my favorite reality show. My husband and I watch it all the time on HyppTv. (I'm not getting anything for promoting but yeah, we don't have Astro.) Much like loving Sewing Bee's Haberdashery, I LOVE the Bake Off's Kitchen... and their setup in a tent on a big yard. The results are also scrumptious looking.

A haberdasher is a person who sells small articles for sewing, such as buttons, ribbons, zips, and other notions (in the United Kingdom[1]) or a men's outfitter (American English[2]). A haberdasher's shop or the items sold therein are called haberdashery. - Wikipedia

Vintage Mannequin Bag for Shahira
Remember the girl who ordered this bag? Yes! Shahira. Well she wanted me to sew her another bag.
So, I'd given her 2 websites to choose fabrics from: FabricFanatics or May May Shop. She choose the below "vintage mannequin" fabric from May May Shop. Definitely a unique design. I matched her chosen fabric with red polka dots and grey fabrics. Inside the bag, were 2 pockets and 1 zipper pocket. A vibrant bag indeed!!

Nursing Cover - Green/Pink Polka Dots
Following from the nursing cover that I made for Azreen, my dearest Vandy bestie, Dayana, ordered a nursing cover for her sister-in-law.
I loved the color. So soft for the mummy. The neck strap is adjustable, easy for the mummy to shorten/lengthen with one hand.
It comes with 1 pocket just in case to put in pacifier or keys or whatever it is... at mummy's hand.
I made an extra nursing cover for Dayana to choose from and ended up giving it to her. Which I made here: Nursing Cover - Orange Dots. :)
