The Green Army Messenger Bag - for the Mr

The board of director of Sew Izziely (the hubs) has spoken.
He had made me his mission. He is not allowing me to rest nor to sew anything other than bags. Instead he's given me a long Santa list of 'bags' I repeat with emphasis, BAGS to sew.

This green army messenger bag is the first on the list. Trust me, he really made sure that I start and finish it as soon as I can. First of all, out of the blue, he even escorted me to the craft store in search for the fabrics and pieces needed for this bag. (Not complaining, he invested several hundreds for the fabrics, leather, buckle,  magnets,  straps,  and more. Again: not complaining. Thanks Abang.)

He drew me what he wanted.
1. A messenger bag with a flap.
2. Sturdy and not flimsy.
3. Compartments for keys, phone, pens, notes, lettes, charger velcro strap.
4. Leather accent. (Leather is definitely a whole other level of craftsmanship. NOT easy. I was wrestling with it but fret not, I persevered.)

Learned a couple of things along the way, like; bias should have been hand sewn on bags like this to look better. Sewing with PVC to make the bag sturdy is challenging as it limits movements on the machine.

Planning above all is important. With special attention to drawing and what needs to be sewn first. The biggest thing I learned is PATIENCE. Really need to be patient. Alhamdulillah I did it!

For a first timer in sewing a man's bag, I'm sort of proud of myself.  I hope the husband is as much as I am. :)

Look out for my next project.

I liked it. Hope you enjoy the pictures much like I do! :) G'night peeps.
